Karuna Communitas is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to creating a responsive, social network of compassionate individuals who wish to share their time and abilities to make transformative psychedelic experiences widely accessible, especially to those for whom this is otherwise not possible.
We believe in co-operative models of healing and reciprocity, inclusivity, a shared sense of purpose and in equal connection and belonging
We are passionate about growing and maintaining this vibrant, not-for-profit community that will work with the medicines to alleviate mental, emotional and physical suffering and promote safe, continued growth and wellbeing.
Karuna
In Sanskrit, Karuna translates to compassion or mercy, a fundamental concept in Buddhism and Hinduism.
Karuna represents the active wish to alleviate the suffering of others with empathy and a desire to help those in need.
Communitas
Communitas is the intense, often unstructured, bond that emerges between individuals, often during rituals.
It reflects a sense of equality and solidarity, where social hierarchies and structures are temporarily suspended.
There exists the feeling of being part of a group that shares a vision and a sense of purpose through action, allowing for a deeper sense of connection and belonging.
